A day's metal detecting with friends

Crewe and Natwich Metal Detecting Society held one of its regular rallies on Sunday 24 September at a venue near Bagley. Although quite a distance from Crewe and Nantwich, the detecting rally was well attended with 24 attendees.

The weather stayed good and at 9.30 members began their search for treasure. The field had not been searched before and slowly finds began to be found.

There was the usual array of coins including pennies and silver sixpences. The oldest coin of the day was a sixpence of Elizabeth I in nice condition.

Other finds included thimbles, a pocket watch, and musket balls.

Whilst not our most prolific day out, everyone had a good time and as ever there was much socialising by the "treasure hunters".
