C&NMDS welcomes enquires from archaeological companies requiring assistance in archaeological field surveys.
In the past our Club members have carried out metal detecting field surveys for several local and nationwide archaeological companies on various projects e.g. Pochin Way Middlewich development, Viking Way Congleton development, Broad Lane Nantwich development, Huntington II Solar Array Huntington, Chester, housing development Davenham Cheshire, housing development Tarporley Cheshire, relocation of Nantwich F.C. upon Kingsley Fields, housing development Nantwich Cheshire, Chester Roman Amphitheatre, Chester Police Station and the development of Stapeley Water Gardens homes.
One of our are largest projects was was to assist in providing Club members for a metal detecting survey under the guidance of a engineering environmental consultancy company, commissioned by Peel Environment Ince Ltd. The project was located at Ince (Wirral) with the proposal to build an Incinerator Plant. The investigation consisted of approximately 475 acres to be conducted over a period of five to six weeks.
Our members are responsible detectorists and are fully conversant with the law as it applies to our hobby and the Treasure Act. Our members also have compulsory liability Insurance obtained through the NCMD and also practice the NCMD Code of Practice.
All Club Members have approved Civil Liability Insurance up to £10 million with The National Council for Metal Detecting (NCMD) or The Federation of Independent Detectorists.
