Farming Revenue & Charities
Since C&NMDS was established in 1982 we would like to think that our Society in a small way has played it’s part within the local communities in helping to raise funds in some instances to various charities and projects as well as supporting farming revenue. This has been made possible through the generous support of landowners who allow us to hold small metal detecting rallies on their land. Our members pay to attend each rally and the proceeds from these rallies are handed over to the landowners, who thoughtfully decide how to allocate the proceeds. We are grateful for the collaboration that enables us to make a positive impact together.
We do provide rally reports if requested to the landowner, showing any finds recovered and images of the days activities.
Our members engage in the exciting hobby of metal detecting for enjoyment only. Our dedicated detectorists adhere to all requirements, including the Treasure Act, ensuring responsible practices. We prioritize safety and compliance, which is why each member is required to have Liability Insurance, typically provided through our affiliation with the National Council for Metal Detecting (NCMD).
